Overview
The Totally California Plus
tour begins in San Francisco and ends in Las Vegas.
You may want to print this information as it might be
helpful in helping you find different prices for your ticket. You can
either show it to your travel agent (who may have even more ideas on how
to save money on a ticket from your area) or use it to help you find
airfare online.
Choice 1
►Day 1 (Saturday)
Fly into San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
We will have a shuttle van pick you up from the airport and take you to
our hotel. You may arrive at any time on Saturday, but remember,
the earlier you arrive the more time you will have to explore on your
own. Check in at the hotel officially begins at 3pm.
However, the front desk will store your bags if you arrive early and
want to go out to explore (Please note: The airport shuttle van stops service at 11:30PM. If
you do not arrive in time to catch the last van of the day, you are
responsible for paying for your own transportation to the hotel).
You may also fly into Oakland Airport. You will then be
provided with money and directions to get to downtown San
Francisco using the bus and subway.
►Day
8 (Saturday)
Fly from Las Vegas (McCarren Airport-LAS) back to your
home city, or onto another vacation destination! Try to book an afternoon or evening flight so
that you can have all of Saturday to further explore Las Vegas.
The most common thing heard from guests
after the trip is that they wish they had booked a later flight out of
Las Vegas! You arrive in the city on Thursday
evening and if you participate in the Grand Canyon bus tour you'll be
gone all day Friday...leaving Saturday to be the best time for explore
Vegas during the day!
Choice 2
►Buy a round-trip ticket
to/from Las Vegas (McCarren Airport)
►Buy a one-way ticket from
Las Vegas to the San Francisco area (either SFO or Oakland
Airport)
►Day 1 (Saturday)
Fly to Las Vegas. Upon arrival into Las
Vegas, take a one-way flight to the San Francisco area.
Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to make the
connection.
►Day 8 (Saturday)
Fly from Las Vegas back to
your home city.
Something
to think about...
Guests may choose to extend the length of
their Totally California tour! Choose to arrive in San
Francisco a day early or stay in Las Vegas an extra day.
Research hostels or hotels on your own, or have Cultural
Hi-Ways make a reservation at the hotels you are already
scheduled to stay at. Simply
e-mail the office
to ask about rates.
Shopping
for air travel over the internet
Many au pairs choose to buy their airline
ticket from an online travel agent or directly from an
airline's website. If you would also like to do so,
please remember that since you are not arriving into and
departing from the same city you will need to look for a
link on the website that says 'multi-city' or
'multiple-destinations'. The usually allows you to
enter one city as an arrival destination and a different
city as a departure destination.
