As this is a "Get There On Your Own Tour", transportation to/from Washington, DC is not included in the price of the tour. This allows you total freedom and flexibility to decide how and when you will travel to the city. A Cultural Hi-Ways representative will meet you at the airport (Ronald Reagan National - DCA).

Example air travel times:

San Francisco Au Pairs...5 hours - either fly late Thursday evening or fly early Friday morning!

Dallas Au Pairs...2 hour 50 minute flight!

St. Louis Au Pairs...2 hour flight!

Atlanta Au Pairs...1 hour and 40 minute flight!

Chicago Au Pairs...90 minute flight!

Tour Itinerary

►Friday

A Cultural Hi-Ways representative will meet you at the airport (Ronald

Reagan National - DCA) and direct you (via metro/subway) to your home for the weekend - the Hilton Arlington Hotel! You may choose to arrive at any time during the day. Official check in at the hotel begins at 3pm, but you may choose to arrive early. If you arrive at the hotel early, give your luggage to the bellman and he will store it until you can check in. While you await the arrival of the other guests, your Cultural Hi-Ways Tour Manager will invite you to join in the planned activities listed below, or will gladly provide you with suggestions on how to spend your first day in DC if you want to do your own thing. You're free to explore Washington, DC and/or shop.

Friday activities you may choose to join...depending on your arrival time

Arrive by 2:30pm* - join us for a tour of Arlington National Cemetery!

Arrive by 6:30pm* - meet your tour manager for a welcome gathering at the hotel!

Arrive by 8:00pm* - join your tour manager and visit Georgetown!

As with all Cultural Hi-Ways tours, you are welcome to join in the planned activities, or choose to do your own thing.

*The times listed are meeting times at the hotel. Subway travel time between the airport and hotel is approximately 25 minutes. Please also take into account airplane taxi time after landing and waiting for baggage when planning your flight.

►Saturday

Today you will be treated to a tour of Washington, DC. Bring your

camera and comfortable walking shoes! Later in the afternoon, you might like to take some time to explore the Smithsonian Institute - the World's largest museum complex. This evening you are free to enjoy DC's exciting nightlife. Georgetown is a great place to return to as you'll find numerous restaurants, cafes and nightclubs. A great place to people watch!

►Sunday

Feel free to do any last minute exploring before departing Washington, DC

You will need to check out of your room by noon, then hop on the subway/metro to travel back to the airport and depart according to your own travel plans. Have a safe trip!
